Studies in Linguistics, Culture, and FLT

Studies in Linguistics, Culture, and FLT (SILC) is an open access journal published three times a year by the Department of English Studies, Faculty of Humanities at Konstantin Preslavsky University of Shumen.

Originally, SILC contained articles written by members of the Department of English Studies and Ph.D. students from Shumen University. In 2016 SILC evolved into a journal publishing scholarly articles by researchers from universities in Bulgaria and abroad. Since 2018 it has been published three times a year.

The journal publishes scholarly contributions in the following categories: research papers involving empirical investigations and methodological or theoretical analyses and discussions within the broad field of English Studies; state of the art reviews and reports of recent books covering issues related to the scope of the journal; or notes and squibs. We strive to publish at least 15 papers per year. Each article undergoes double blind peer-review and is attributed a

SILC is fully Open Access, which means that all published articles are freely available without charge to the authors, their institutions or the readers in accordance with the definition of open access of the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI).
